Guestimonials

From Northern Europe and Scandinavia to the USA and Australia, «La Maison Suisse» has been a home away from home for any number of holidaymakers and longer-term residents over the years. Many noted their impressions in the guest book; here is a representative selection of entries in English.

Jürgen & Antonie von S. and family, Bergisch Gladbach, Germany

A lovely place to spend two summer weeks. We’ll return in wintertime to test the fireplace!

Bennie & Ineke O., Haren, The Netherlands

A week in this comfortable house is too short for all there is to enjoy. Thanks for the welcome and we think that this is one of the best places to stay. The temptation to stay on the balcony and look around to the village and the hills! At least we did see a lot of the area: Salins, Montmahoux, Mont Poupet, Pont de Diable, Besançon, Ornans, Chateau de Joux — and of course the Source du Lison.

Martin S. & family, Darwen, England

Our fourth stay at «Maison Suisse» and our first stay of two weeks. The house was up to its usual high standard, everything we needed was available and it all worked. Internet access is a great plus when travelling with a teenager! […] We made our first visit to Neuchâtel in Switzerland and found it simply stunning. It was a beautiful, cloudless, sunny day and the trip on the lake will be remembered for a long time. The Auberge du Pont du Diable in its new location is well worth a visit, the food is as good as the original, as is the welcome, Marie-Claude. The trips to Besançon, Lausanne and all the surrounding towns and villages were as memorable as ever. My daughter and I tried the tree acrobatic Park at Salins. All I can say about it is that I did it! We will definitely be back.

John & Margaret B., Staplehurst, England

Our second visit and «La Maison Suisse» and surroundings are just as good as we remembered. This time we have particularly enjoyed the Cascades du Hérisson and Mont Poupet off the road to Salins-les-Bains – as long as you don’t mind steps! We are reluctant to leave, but hope to return again.

Lars & Suzie A. and family, Naestved, Denmark

A marvellous vacation of almost 3 weeks is coming to its end and the part in «La Maison Suisse» surely being the best part. The house and the surroundings are absolutely worth recommending. Being a family with three girls the ages of 11, 16 and 18 we especially enjoyed the nearest surroundings: the paths, the rocks and the streams. The biggest laugh was seeing three young boys trawling downstream the Lison on a home-made float wearing T-shirts and hair in the air. That they were beside boys in kayaks wearing helmets and lifejackets made it especially funny. We love the food and the wine of this region and hope to be back soon.

Liesbeth van der N. & family, Lutjewinkel, The Netherlands

We had a wonderful week here in Nans-sous-Sainte-Anne. Nice little village with lots of wonderful and breath-taking surroundings. Thanks for this experience in this nice area.

Ian & Margery J., Tuncurry, Australia

Thank you, Jan. We are so pleased we discovered you on the web. Nans and the surroundings are magnificent. The house is warm, comfortable and equipped with everything. We have biked (both leisurely and energetically), and driven near and far. We depart with happy memories and tales to tell.

Lloyd B., Rob & Beryl, Birmingham, England

Another fantastic stay! Great weather, marvellous scenery and a very warm welcome. Many thanks, once again.

Pnina & Moti Z. and family, Haifa, Israel

We spent a most pleasant and relaxing week in the comfort of your house, hiking, skiing and touring this lovely area. The sun we brought with us, Israel escorted us all week, creating perfect weather for this vacation. […] Thanks!

Carole & Michael H. and family, Royston, England

Everyone in the family agrees that that this is the very best holiday we have had! We cannot thank Jan enough for his warm welcome and advice, all supported by a thoroughly comprehensive guest manual and an encyclopaedic file of activity suggestions. The week was not enough to make the slightest scratch on the surface of the area. We have lacked for nothing: comfort, convenience, breath-taking views and a superb house to relax in after a day’s exploration. The Jura region was unknown to us. We have been enthralled at what we have so far seen and experienced. The weather has been glorious, but a dramatic storm one evening did hint at something more sinister to a family, the flatlands of Cambridgeshire!

Hugh & Helen T. and family, Haslington, England

This has been the best holiday ever - the house is so comfortable and has everything you could need and more. If we could pack up the balcony and the scenery and take it home with us, I would be so happy - but we’ll just have to come back instead. The weather has been perfect and we’ve been able to visit semi-interesting and varied places,, the ice cave to mountains, small villages to large towns, walking to train rides in Switzerland. Jan has been so welcoming and helpful, with so much information – thank you so much for enabling us to have such a peaceful and relaxing holiday.

Special thanks to all of you above, together with numerous others who shared impressions about their stay.
